This was a challenge.
I decided early on that i wasnt going to go for a full recolour, i wanted to keep the photo looking like it did, with just the damage removed.
Started by replacing the red channel with a lightness channel. Did some basic colour correction to compensate for this.
The started the cloning, healing and patching. this was the bulk of the work.
Used the patch tool to replace the eyes from the given photo.
corrected the skin tones using a solid colour layer set to colour and reduced opacity.
Finished off with a dust and scratches filter.
Kind of happy with the effect, but i guess i could have spent more time fixing the skin a bit better.
challenging but fun.
