Scrapped blue channel, replaced with duplicated green channel .
Channel mixer to correct colours.
Added new layers set to colour to tint faces and clothes.
Inspired by Kschulz's comment in the Nov contest discussion, I used the following to deal with the texture pattern.

Hi Steve:
Very nice job in coloration and repair.
What you did to this photo was create a very natural coloring, not at all over done. The background color and lighting is very soft and does not detract from the children.
My only suggestion would be to color the lips of the two girls in the upper row, and the little boy in the bottom row.

Thanks for the comments, I'll get the hang of colourization one day.
Whenever I create a new colour layer the colour I choose never seems to look like the pallette colour.
I will change the lips as best I can.
