Kinda cheated here, but I only had ½ an hour to spare.

Duplicated background.
Gaussian blurred the layer.
Added layer mask, whilst holding Alt key. (Enabling me to paint back features using white brush)
Merged layers
Added gradient mask – darkened right side of face.
Tight crop to show those beautiful features.

Whew! This one really stopped me in my tracks. Luv the tight crop. Clean and natural. That's how I like it!

Cheers
Dave

Steve - I agree with Dave.
The tight crop is really eye catching.
And retaining the skin grain and freckles give this a great look.
The darker eyeballs reduce the pale glassy look on the original.
You did do some eye work didn't you Steve?

Best Wishes
Matt

Dave thanks for your comments.

Bit of a cheat though isn't it!

Matt - yes, I forgot the eye bits. - I whitened them a touch and cloned the right edge of the right eye to the left.

Thanks Matt. Hope your alright now.

Cheers Steve

Agree, needs to be pin sharp.
Guassian blur makes it look like a soft focus problem.
Would like to see a bit more chin too.
