First of all I tried to restore Tess face and hair. I also had in mind to keep some of the small horisontal wrinkles, wanted the building to look rough beside the young girl.
First of all I used KPT equalizer - the same as using curves I guess. Trying to keep down some pixel levels were the damaged showed the most.
After that I took the original and did a gaussian blur, as well - on an other layer - a black and white conversion with a lot of contrast.
I mixed the three layers together. Then I started to work on Tess with the clone and healing brushes as well as the burn tool. Last I did some work on the background. As planned I kept some roughness.
This was my third entry and I finally understood that there also was a larger jpg that was meant to work with. A lot easier than with the small one, that´s for sure.
Best,
Mats

Hi! Mats
Very good work, just a little bit more on the reconstruction of her right eye needed.

It looks good Mats. I also like how you kept everything in it's normal state. How much time did you spend on the picture?
