At first I added contrast and some sharpening, then painted over the background. To restore the face I used a healing brush tool, but the majority was painted. NB it was helpful to have 20 years experience in fine art painting to do this. For the necklace I used 'gold gradient' and for the background I employed 'backdrop designer for photoshop' adding lighting affects. I finally added a little noise to the subject, flattend it and reduced it in size.

I love the color choices but the collar-necklace area doesn't have the shadow like it should. This is my Great Grand Mother and I love how you make her look. So proud, so aristocratic. Thanks Aarius
