Looks great! Restoring this picture must have been a real pain - and I doubt I'll continue my efforts on this one
One small note: I suppose the "dark something" above the fourth person from the left side is a mold spot which does not belong to the original picture.

Thanks for the commemts Beth and Marc,
Marc - I went to the original and had a hard look at that dark stain.
A few darker stains on it made me miss it.
I removed the stain and uploaded a new version.
I think it looks better with that weird stain gone.
Thanks for your help.

great jog matt!! so... what did you do to get the spots out? I touched this one for about 15 minutes, but have been so busy, I haven't had the time to spend... anyway this looks great. I can't wait till I have enough time to devote to it.

David - I was housebound by rain over the weekend
and had plenty of spare time to work on this.
Marlenes - Those spots were a real pain.
I removed the spots on the ground and trees with the patch tool.
But the spots on the house and people were much tougher.
I dabbed on them with the dodge tool to lighten and reveal detail beneath.
Then I used the clone tool to complete the removal.

sounds good. So far what I've done is the patch tool on the tree and ground, but I realize the people won't work that way. I gotta get my work done so I can play!! And again, great job.

Very Nice Matt. It does not look like there are any short cuts to make this easier. You will notice that there have not been many submissions to this challange. I wonder why. Gee it looks like it may rain here in a few days.

Phil - I couldn't see any shortcuts in this one.
It was old-fashioned cloning and toning all the way
There are just so many people in this wonderful old photo.
Fine detail like eyes, tips of noses and mouths
were often just a few dark pixels.
I think a filter like dust and scratches would remove vital detail.
I'm feeling very lonely with my restoration sitting there alone.
I hope it rains at Seabrook Island and Marlenes finds some spare time so you both can join me in this challenge.

*Excellent* job, Matt. I doubt if I'll live long enough to get it done like yours.

Magnific job!!! How long time you needed to do that?
I work with restoration & retouching. To make something like that the cost would be more than U$100.00.
Congratulation for your huge patience

Ed – I think this is a wonderful photo.
The amount of detail in this photo is staggering.
So many people and so much of interest to hold the eye.
What a great record of life in the early 1900s.
Marlenes – I am really looking forward to your restoration.
Steve – I know you won’t be able to resist this if you have time.
Chanchal – I remember the fine job you did on the car and background in challenge #79. I know you would do a great job on this.
RestaurArt – I must have spent a good 5 hours on it.
I liked this photo so much I was worried I my restoration
wouldn’t do justice to the original. Thanks for your comments.
