Hi Matt
Oh Boy - How did you do this so quick.
Hats off to you Saint Matt
I will have a go at this when I get a moment.
We've had pretty cold weather here for a couple of weeks... and of course the heating and hot water decided to pack up, so floor boards up everywhere and utter chaos.
If I get half close to your submission Matt I'll be pleased.
Brilliant - Well done - another one to hang on the wall!!!
All the best
Steve

Klassylady25 – I had to have a lot of breaks too. Don’t give up.
Steve – I thought the Curry Family photo was one in a million.
Then this one arrives. What a stunning photo.
I think this photo would look great in sepia.

Matt, outstanding!!! As you said, there were no shortcuts on this one -- only detailed painstaking work. Great job!

great stuff, though a little more contrast would maybe be a bit more standout (keep in mind also, this is from one who has not attempted )

Thanks for the comments Bob and Cassidy,
Cassidy - I think you are right about a little more contrast.
I hit my restoration with Auto-Levels and could see it
remove a veil of gray. It was an improvement.

Really nice work Matt - no pixel neglected. I can also appreciate how frustrating it is to coax a natural look out of 62 tiny, blotchy, low res faces. Well done! As for the chimney, I came to that discovery very late in the process too.

Second chimney looks good Matt. Nice contrast boost too.

Doug - I can't sneak anything past your eagle eye.
That chimney was only a small item in a very busy photo.
But I felt it added a vital anchor point to that area.
After seeing the great job you did on this one,
my restoration looked naked without that chimney.

Great Job. You must have the patience of a Saint to do all that cloning.

As the submitter of this photo, I must say that the RetouchPro members are exactly that! I have worked on this photo off and on for three years, and it has been a learning experience. I still haven't conquered it, but I see it can be done!
Thanks to all who saw this as a worthy project and spent time getting to know these people from a happy day a hundred years ago (whoever they are).
