Rotated and Cropped
Added a blank painting layer
Added channel Mixer with Monochrome checked to work in greyscale
Painted onto the painting layer to repair the damage
The colour on the dress was also painted so I removed that as well
My picture was looking pretty clean but looked more like a B&W painting
Added Eyelashes
Added Pores
Layer set to Overlay to add Highlights
That was just about the greyscale picture finished. I colorized it

Ken,
I love way you contoured her face. All of your painting work is excellent, and the hairstyle is really good. The hair got me when I was working on my version. I couldn't imagine what the top of her hair could possible look like. Good job.

Good work Ken,
I like your idea of going to grayscale then coloring,
Nice work on skin tones and hair.

Hi Lorraine and Matt.
Thank you for your kind comments.
I have just had my picture printed at 10x8. It looks OK but the eyelashes look a little too sharp and the pupil/iris looks a little small. This was my first Restoration Challenge. I will now try #85 as I want to build up a portfolio.
Lorraine. Your picture looks great. I especially like the dress and eyes. I’ll keep practicing.
