Oh my, another dress and hair problem
Great job, Matt. You did a much better job than I did on that dress.
Everything about this was extremely difficult and as always you've risen to the challenge.
Her skin tone looks very good and you recreated the missing face well.
Her arms look very good and the dress looks brand new

Looks great, this one was very hard to do...

Matt,
About her hair, I don't think it's too modern I think there's just too much of it. When I added new hair to mine, I tried to follow the original hair outline. I think that helps to maintain the original shape.
I took the liberty of taming it, and also straightening out her earring. Here's the link.

Thanks Squggle – I agree with you. This is a very tough restoration.
Ninety9 – Your restoration inspired me to try harder with this one.
Thanks for the help Lorraine,
With that big puffed out hair I had her
looking like Peg from Married with Children.
I took her back to the hairdresser again.
I still have not followed the original outline but have thinned her hair.
Strange thing, her earring is now hanging vertically.
Thanks again,
Matt

Hi again Matt,
In my opinion the hair and earring look so much better.
What I've experienced is that I can get so caught up the restoration that I can't see reality anymore.
That's when I call my husband to look at my work. He has no idea of art, photography or anything involved with photo restoration -- but he can surely point out what he sees as not too good. I call it "out of the mouths of babes."
Glad to be of help.

Hi Matt. A lot of hard work went into this one and I think your 'extras' fit in nicely - the hair looks great (might look better pasted into original outline), the dress pattern looks natural and the blouse looks properly shaded and fitted, and the ears do look like they belong. I can't pin it down but the eyes seem shaped a little different than the original (maybe the lower lids could use more definition) and the lips stand out a bit, but still a wonderful result.

Thanks Doug,
I really appreciate the constructive comments.
I went overboard with the hair.
And compounded my mistake by restoring her facial features
without having the original open next to my restoration.
The result was that I lost her true 'likeness'
I have got to get a 19-inch monitor.
But I’m spending all my money on camera lenses.
Matt
