Using Photoshop 6.1, Photo-Brush 1.95, Photoimpact 7.1 and PSP 7.0.
1] Opened in Photoshop, flipped horizontal, excised the sky area.
2] Saved and opened in Photo-Brush, raised the land and trees with 'emboss' brush.
3] In Photo Impact, opened a cloud scene taken myself.
4] Highlighted the clouds on one side with an effect from the 'lighting gallery'
5] Copied result to clipboard.
6] Opened Photoshop, opened MT layer in the image, pasted clipboard into it.
7] Tinged trees slightly with dark green.
8] Flattened all.
9] Opened image in PSP, ran image through the 'emboss texture' effect.
10] Opened result in a new layer in in the Photshop image.
11] Filled a new layer with copper brown.
12] Adjusted layers and opacities to give a 'planished copper' effect.

Wow!! That looks 3D. What an awesome effect. Love the amount of detail you got in the effect. Makes you want to search it out for hidden shapes.

This is a very unique approach. For openers flipping the image was inspired. The addition of the date text w/o it looking 'computerized' adds authenticitiy.
Greatly appreciate the 'how to' detail, too.
