Great job Lorraine, did really well with the hands too, one of the aspects I found hard, retrospectively, think I'd meet you about half way on the yellow reduction

Thanks so much Cassidy.
Hands are extremely difficult because of the lines, highlights and shadowing. I used a lot of copying and pasting from good parts of the fingers over the damaged areas. Also burned the shadow outlines.
Thanks for your most helpful comment on the yellow cast. I thought the photo had yellowed with age, but couldn't really come up with a great solution for that problem. I like your idea of the half way reduction.
Best wishes to you for a Happy Holiday season.

Excellent restoration Lorraine,
I didn't read the history of this photo until now.
Glad you did such a good job on it.
Best wishes for Christmas and New Year

Great job, Lorraine. I agree with Cassidy that the hands were masterfully done - takes an artist to do that kind of work. And the 'fur' by the left knee is a nice touch.

Excellent restoration.
How did you manage to retain the detail on the jeans? I completely lost the zipper!

Thanks, Mary.
The jeans took more time than all the rest of the restoration
I managed to find some seaming details in the pocket area. I kept copying, pasting, distorting, dodging, burning on separate blend mode layers until those selections looked right to me.

Lorraine -
I printed a 4 x 6 of your work for my friend (mom of the boy in picture) back in December. It's still on her bulletin board at work so she can see it every day. Thanks for your outstanding restoration. You'll never know how much it is appreciated.
