Hello all

I reckon this took about 5 hours…

Started by cutting out the sky and leaving transparent for dealing with later.
Grey scaled it, and did a little levels adjustments
Copied the layer to work on and left and original in the background for reference.
The main clone and heal was done to tidy up the major amount of scratches.
I fixed up the darker patches by selection the feather around 2 to 15 pixels depending on the area and once again used levels to fix these.
Used a face from “the gathering” for Pa, I didn’t see a whole lot wrong with ma so just tidies her up with a bit of artistic cloning and shading. Pa need a good deal of scaling and shading to get right but I think I did a good job
The horses eye got some attention just be drawing it in really with the brush tool
The old building in the back rebuilt with clone and dodge and burn to get realistic shading on the tiles and wooden slats.
The gate was copied and flipped and cloned and pasted around until I was happy. The Log that the horses are nearby took me some work to texture it and under shadow it and I’m still not happy with it, There foreground I had to use judgement as what looked like a good texture and simply cloned and healed from areas around. I did find the heal tool and patch tool seems to heal lighter than I liked so I used the above select and feather method to fix this.
Sky. Created a grad grey from the darker colour from the original ad the whiter colour under the tree. Added some noise and then saved off as a jpg, and reopened so I had similar artefacts to the original jpg posted, blurred this a couple of time and added some very subtle wispy high clouds.
All done. Phew !!!
Thanks for any comments.
