Using PS7
I did Autolevels
and then Autocolor
and then chose the red channel, selected it and pasted it as a new image...worked from there.

Cloned most wrinkles
used healing brush on some spots.

airbrushed some parts of face, neck.

selected and darkened eyes, as well as lightened white in eyes.

dodged eyes and lips. dodged around edges of hat.

blurred face, neck and scarf.

selected button, copied and pasted it in two other places.

Then played with levels until I liked the contrast.

Vignetted edges and croped a bit

Very handsome man. Fun photo to work on!

The overall retouch is great SR, his 'chaps' and background are well done and I like the subtle vignette. There is a small patch of smoothing in the background (near his hat) but that could be reduced by adding a little bit of noise to the area. Good work

Great job Summertimerules! This is a good restoration overall. I like the airbrushing you did to the face, it's pretty subtle and definitely brings out the facial features. Keep up the good work!

Very nice work, Summer. I like the fact you paid special attention to the face and then left no trace of your presence. I agree with Mike though that the smudge to the right of his hat is a bit too noticeable.

Overall the tone is very good and gives some depth to the photo. The jacket ended up a little dark though and the striping and sleeve-detail are difficult to pick out. Vignetting looks great and pays homage to the original.
