I spent 30 minutes tweaking my previous restoration and implemented the few suggested changes to the car and tree. I certainly think the wheel and rear window are a bit better. I'm not so sure I like the tree truck but stuck with it for realism.

Steve

This is really good Steve, I like the fact that have,nt turned it into a piece of realism. An old photo should look like an old photo so it's great that you have left the grain in and manage to bring up so much detail. I have struggled with the wheel but you have done a great job.
Tara Vicky.

Thanks Vicky. I prefer to try avoid too much noise reduction or smoothing as I find it can sometimes look a bit unreal or too edited. With restoration I aim to get as much detail back and to repair damage while keeping some sense of what the image looked like in it's original state.

The wheel was a bit of a pain although a copy, paste and then free transform / warp helped me sort most of it. Then just a bit of cloning and brushing to blend the pieces together.

Cheers,
Steve
