I found this a very tough photo to work on.
The little fellow looked lost in this dark and gloomy photo.
I hoped color would help him stand out from the background.
The only way I could think of to make the ground
and bushes less distracting was a marathon of cloning,
I cloned the hedge across the faded right side trying hard
to avoid a repeating pattern.
But I've made it look like he's standing in a plowed field. Doh!
I gave him a new shoe. It was tough because he is
standing at an angle on uneven ground. Hope it looks OK.
I had no idea what colors to make his clothes.
I cycled through different colors with Hue & Sat. Blue looked best.
Virtual Photographer is a free Photoshop plug in.
I used the Fall Colors setting to add rich warm colors.
I enjoyed working on this old photo.
Except all that darn cloning.
