First, I adjusted the color with curves then got rid of the blemish with gaussian blur at 2 pix and stamp tool. Last but not lease, I use the softlight blending mode to make it look even softer.

A great job you've done here, I thought. Motivated me to replicate what you had done as I'm on a learning curve. Had to do a bit more tweaking to get close to your result. The initial blur was not sufficient to achieve the same background result as yours so repeated that with a mask to protect the girl. Also found I had to dodge the eyes on a 50% grey layer at low opacity as the softblend layer really washed them out. Great fun and thanks for the inspiration.
