I used Curves to get the color that I wanted. I took samples of the light and dark areas with my color picker to help me with setting the white and black point in the picture to align the colors. I then used the High Pass filter for sharpening the photo and I also used the Shadow/Highlight tool to bring in more detail and sharpness around the edges.
