Using mainly the Hue/Saturation dialog I chose a color that I wanted to put into the image and made that my foreground. Then I made an adjusment layer with Hue/Saturation and clicked on colorize and then played with the sliders until I got the desired color. I then filled the adjustment layer with black to get rid of all colors and then I took my brush (with the foreground set to white) and colored in the areas that I wanted that color. I did this for each color I used.

You did a very nice job on a difficult colorization. On my monitor, the colors are pretty close to believable.
