This is first time posting. I've restored many of our own family photos but am self-taught so I'm sure there are probably easier ways to do this. Wish I had found this website MUCH earlier! I use Photoshop Elements and hoping someday I can afford the "heavy duty" version of Photoshop.
Here's what I did. First removed most of the red by adjusting the color using Color Variations menu.
Then separated Superboy from the background into two layers and fine tuned the colors separately for the two layers. For the most part, just added some green and blue to the background.
Then removed some of the grain separately in the two layers, flattened back down to one layer, sharpened slightly. Blurred out some of the remaining red dots and then used clone and spot mending tool to get rid of the cracks and scratches.
That's about it. What do you think?
