I am very new at this, it took me 2 days and 11 tries (experimenting with everything) to get this result. Some of the things i played with:
healing brush work
layers to smooth skin
levels adjustments
vignettes and some brush work to try to de-emphasize that background
changed eye catch lights
played with blue channel
spent a very long time on head band couldn't really solve that problem
i changed the lips slightly to cover all the teeth and moved a wisp of hair from below the left eyebrow
i decided to soften the vignette area at the end
