Used FFT filter to remove pattern, then lots of cloning to remove rust spots and other imperfections.
Duplicated layer and applied curves to brighten stained areas, then applied mask to show only those areas.
Sharpened, reduced size for posting and sharpened again.

For marlenes: FFT = fast fourier transform
It's a filter that can be used to remove a regular pattern from an image. You can get it as a plug-in or as a standalone program (e.g. Image Analyzer).
