Really wanted to maintain integrity of this as an antique image. So concentrated on trying to reveal the mising detail in the people rather than totally clearing the background etc.
It would take me as long to describe what I did as it took to do it! But basically there was a lot of de-specking, cloning and softening.
It took ages for me to figure out where the kid’s other leg was! But I think he has his foot on his fathers knee. I cloned the shoe from the original to get the new one. I love that he seems to be holding a feather, so tried to keep that in!
I also cloned the fathers left hand and mirrored and flipped it to get his right hand which is resting on the boys ankle.
Didn’t do too much on Mum as she was quite clear already.
