Extremely well done. Did you intend giving that effect, gives me an uneasy feeling, as giving the perceived thickness of the mask, whose eyes are looking at me.

At first glance, all looks seemingly natural, but you know something is off. And then you follow the side of the face to the string and then you see it’s a mask! Very impressive results! I like the added details of the string tying the mask to the face and the glasses attached to the mask and not the face. It has a surreal quality about it. Superb job!

Nick is right...definitely gives one an uneasy feeling. Exceptional image...I love the string and the way you integrated it with the mask and hair. The edges of the mask seem a little too blurry, especially the top...but that's just being nitpicky!

Thanks for the kind words all.
Nick: yes, that was the effect I was going for. What's *really* wierd is to grab the mask layer while editing and dynamically move it around - such a freaky effect!
G: You're right, nitpicky. My eraser was a little too soft edged and I was just a little too sleepy...
I originally did the challenge using my father-in-law's face, but my wife wasn't too happy about that.

I've never seen this done before -- very impressive. I did a real double-take! Great idea and execution!

Very cool. And I think it follows the original stated challenge of "make a face into a mask", as opposed to put a mask on a face...though the others are charming too.
So is that you, VisualEyes?

"So is that you, VisualEyes?"

Yes, that's both of me. Creepy and uneasy.

Fantastic idea and great execution (except for nitpicking). Definitely a WOW image that shows what's possible with the medium.

Looks like something that could have been used in a "Hannibal Lecter" movie. Nicely done.

Creepy in that it looks so realistic. That's a compliment.
