Photoshop CS4, Essentials workspace Retouching Challenge #31
Here I did no more than repair two channels to show how the Image>Apply Image tool can save time when working with color retouch and restoration.
1. I opened the image in RGB and looked at the channels to see which one was bad. I found that the blue channel was the worst and the red channel needs a little attention also.
2. I converted the image to LAB color to see if one of the channels there was looking bad and I found that the B channel was bad. While in LAB I highlighted the B channel and went to Image>Apply Image, set the Channel to A and Blending to Normal and clicked OK. The image is looking better already!
3. I converted the image back to RGB and highlighted the red channel and went to Image> Apply Image and set the channel to Red and looked through the blending modes to find one that worked the best and set Blending to Multiply and clicked OK. The image is looking even better now and it will be much easier to do whatever finishing touches it need to complete the retouch or restoration.
