Photoshop CS4, Essentials workspace, Retouching Challenge Bride Tan Lines1
1. I took the image into LAB color and used the brush tool Mode: Darker Color, Opacity: 10% to darken the tan lines while using the alt key to choose nearby colors.
2. I used the burn tool Range: Highlights, Midtones, and Shadows as needed and Exposure: 1% to help in blending.
3. I used the brush tool Mode: Color, Opacity: 100% to knock down some of the blow out areas in the image, picking nearby colors using the alt key.
4. In the channels pallet I choose the Lightness channel and then went to Filter>Sharpen>Unsharp Mask, Amount: 100%, Radius: 0.3, Threshold: 0 and applied sharpen to the Lightness channel.
5. I added an adjustments curve layer and took the ‘A’ channel up just a tad on both ends keeping the line in the original centered point. I took the ‘B’ channel up just a tad on both ends but not quite centering the line, I set it just a little to the yellow to give the image a little warmth.
6. Converted back to RGB color.
