I found this the hardest challenge yet.
This is attempt 4 or 5.
I made 2 copies and opened picture1 in camera raw.
There I dragged the sliders about in the first option to get a lot of colour and detail ,ignoring the fuzziness.
Then I opened it into photoshop and opened the original as a second picture.
On picture 1,I used the replaceacolour brush and brushed out a lot of the odd colours that had resulted from making the image bolder.
I made another empty layer and pasted the original pic into it from pic 2.
This I copied and made much harder and brighter in another layer and then used opacity sliders in all the layers to get a reasonable combination of darks ,lights and colours.
I combined them as one and set to painting in and cloning the details as best I could.
The original layer was recopied and the white bars filled in with a neutral skin looking colour so that I could use that as an underlying image under the retouched layer without the white comimg back through.
I used the patch tool a bit on the dungarees as I couldnt decide if there was a wallet in the bib pocket or wether it was just a brown mark,I went with the mark theory and covered it up.
Ultimately I cropped off some messy edges and adjusted the levels.
