First a saw the picture in my head. Then I did a pin up skeleton in the 3D program Poser. After that I made the room in Photoshop. Masked the area of the floor and used Super Blade Pro to render a wood texture. I made the walls red masked the left wall and put a bucket with black in it - with lots of opacity. Then I spotlighted the whole room. I put the skeleton on a separate layer. Did a shadow with Extensis PhotoTools 2. But you could also have duplicated the skeleton, made it dark, gaussian blur and used the transform tool to lay the shadow down with the right perspective.
Then I took the face of a woman and covered part of the skull. I painted some cracks on a separate layer and masked the eyes and lips and duplicated it to a different layer so that I could make them darker and more eyecatching since the head became rather small.
The model was done with her first job and also - I presume - her last.

Beautiful! A brilliant idea and well-executed.

Phyllis (who wishes she had that nifty Poser program)

Powerful use of color on this one. The mask on bones was a cool idea and excellently well done.

Nicely done! Just in time for the Halloween season.

I played around with Poser back around version 2 and got frustrated with all the seams. I can see the rendering quality's come a long ways since then.

Hi! Molund
You have put together the various elements very well. What happened to the rib cage though, looks as if someone has had a go at it with a 2 by 4

I see what you mean Nick. See if I could do something about it later.
But I donīt know what a 2 by 4 is - my english isnīt so good. Could you explain?
However I think this model have been pin upped against the wall at least one time to much.

Hi! Molund
It normally refers to a length of wood measuring about 2 inches by 4 inches in thickness, an euphemism for a cudgel. Hope that helps.
English is a terrible wonderful language, so many ways of shading meaning.
