First I took my time cloning and healing to rid the horse of his harness and reins. I researched some images of horses eyes online for a visual to help in recreating the eye with paint brush, smudge tool, dodge and burn. Then I masked the horse and brought him into one of my own photos. I experimented with leaving some of the composite in color and some in grayscale. I used layer effects to create a shadow for the horse, then control clicked on layer effect to create layer out of shadow and distort shape. Last I cloned some grass at the horse's feet to make his existence in the new photo more believable.
