1 Retouched the damage with cloning tool

2 Adjusted levels in “levels” and color with “color balance”

3 Converted the image to “Lab Color” and used unsharp mask only in lightness channel. Converted the image to RGB

4 Copy the image in another layer, desaturated it and used the filter Sketch/Halftone pattern/linear to create a TV effect. Transformed the image to match the TV Display

5 Using the Cloner in 50% to 30% cloned different parts over the dark zone.

6 At the end I used the Add Noise filter to get some texture

Wow! You just went ahead and fixed the right side instead of eliminating it (like I did ) Very good job.

I like the clever addition of the TV programming that you and PJB both did -- your choice of recreating the little girl as the "star of the show" was a clever idea.

Nice job. The pic in the tv is great. The colors adjustment looks like what the original would be. Super.

Your color tones are very natural looking. Nice work.

Hi! Joaco
Happy to see that you did not take the vignette 'cop out' route, and tried for a reconstruction. There is a bit too much yellow in your tones, to my eye anyway, and I consider the TV effects a distraction, though the addition of the lines does make it look authentic. This is a retouch project though so I guess anything goes. Overall, as usual you've done an excellent professional job, congrats
