In Photoshop 6.0,
- adjusted auto levels
- repaired forehead by painting after colour picking and with a bit of cloning
- discarded right hand side of picture because it contained no important information (what I thought at first was someone's arm turned out to be a pillow)
- reduced shadows in upper right by colour picking then painting with 50% opacity. Added Noise around 1.07
- Dodged and Burned background elements, including the shiny things at her left, the curtains, the tv and the floor
For her face-
- whites of eyes dodged at 12%
- iris burned at 12%
Lashes also done with the same setting.
- Highlight on lip at 17%
-used small brush to Blur at 7 - 10% on skin
Did a manual dust pick with the blur tool
Adjusted levels.
Went on the forum because the file size was wonky.
Figured out how tro read the actual file size (thanks, Greg) then went to Gif Bot to compress the image down to size.
It lost a little in the crunch.

I think that's it.
Oh - also added colour to the rug.

Very good job! Excellent skin tones. The area under her feet does look a little over saturated

Beautiful job, mama alligator!!

You cleaned 'that' right side very well!!

....Have you ever tried gradients on adjustment layers as a way to balance over or under exposed parts of the picture with the rest of it?

Ciao....Flora

Thanks Greg and Flora.
I'm a big fan of gradients all around -especially in Art pictures. Thanks for the tip, Flora.

Hi!
tones are excellent, eyes slightly overdone, I'd hate to try and stare her out. Information or not in the right hand side, its worth a go, balances the TV set, with her in the middle of attention, now the set vies with her.
