Enhancer and PS CS3 Crashing

I'm not sure if this is similar to the previous thread or not. I used the original version on Enhancer with no trouble whatsoever. However, after updating to the version with Focus mode, CS3 would from time to time simply close after choosing Filter> Akvis Enhancer. Now, I can't use Enhancer at all because CS3 closes every time I choose it. I use a MacBook with OS X 10.4.11, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB memory.

Any help is appreciated.

I'm not familiar with Enhancer. Is it Universal Binary (able to run on the Intel Chip)? Do you have the same problem if you set PS to run in Rosetta?

I'm not computer literate enough to know whether or not Enhancer is universal binary. However, Enhancer worked perfectly fine on my computer before I downloaded the new version with the Focus mode. It was only after downloading the new version that this problem came up. I have to assume that there's something buggy about the new version and hopefully Akvis knows how to fix it. Alternatively, I would be happy to replace this version with the previous one that worked well.

Does Enhancer standalone work without any problem?
Do you have a log file from Console?

My license doesn't let me use the standalone version. If it would help, tell me what exactly I can get you from Console.

Here's how Enhancer behaves:

TIF image with no layers other than background: Opening Enhancer will cause CS3 to close the file.

TIF image with multiple layers: Enhancer works fine when in background layer.

TIF image with background layer plus background copy layer (no other layers): Enhancer works fine when in either background or background copy layers. In some cases Enhancer opens with a highly coarse, pixelated image. In other cases it opens with a perfectly good image.

TIF image with multiple layers: Enhancer opens with a "Black Image" message when in layer other than background.

Enhancer is Universal Binary. It will work on Intel Mac. And it should work under Rosetta.

Well, of course I can't get CS3 to misbehave at the moment. However, I will send a TIF which shows up pixelated in Enhancer.

You know, I did a couple system updates, repaired permissions and cleared out some old files, and the problems seem to have disappeared. At least I can't duplicate them in the last few photos I've worked on. Unless I run into difficulties down the road you won't hear from me on this.
