In retouching you might get asked to combine elements from two or more photos to create one final photo. So let’s practice this skill, but have a little fun with it…..

Movie Combo

Challenge Take two or more movie posters and combine them together to create a completely new movie poster. For instance what would you get if you took the movie 007 and combined it with the movie Monster’s Inc? What would the new title be? How would the new poster look? Please also include any relevant copyright info in your post’s comments.

I'm sort of off the mark here. I didn't have movie posters, only a warped sense of imagination. Here is my take on the 1989 movie "War of the Roses" directed by Danny DeVito.

Janet,
Kudos for being first to tackle this challenge. Don’t worry about not having posters to work from…extra kudos from developing your entry from scratch!

I like the earthy feel to your entry, but the text is hard to read. Try experimenting with a screen behind the text to make the font stand out from the background, or a different color for the font, or even a hard drop shadow. One of those techniques should make your text stand out more. Think moive poster...big bold text that is easy to read from a distance. You want people coming to your movie. :)

Chris,
Excellent manipulation work down to the text! I especially like Donkey in the background with the terminator red eye. Also great job adding the robot circuits to fit Shrek’s unusual face especially his ear.

Chris,
Another brilliant combination. I wonder about the glasses though. There’s a bit of white around them. Also the right side of the glasses tucks up nicely under the eyebrow, but the left side (of the image) looks like it has only been erased. Overall excellent work!
