Just wondering if anyone has or is planning to buy the new Epson 1800 printer and why. Did you consider the 800 first?

Bob BWlover 04-20-2005, 03:37 PM got an R1800 few days ago, very pleased by it's performance. I bought it because i was thinking dumpping my 1280. R1800 is claimed to be the replacement of 1280, so I bought it. I am testing http://www.InkRepublic.com ink system with my new toy - Epson R1800. so far so good, works great. Caitlin 04-20-2005, 04:13 PM I was - but I just heard the first retailer has put it on sale for AUS$1249. A bit too pricey for me. I was expecting $800-900, and even spending that I was being grossly extravagent. I'lll wait am see if the price is looking more reasonable in 6 months. DannyRaphael 04-20-2005, 05:01 PM If you plan to print on canvas-type papers, I believe I read somewhere the 1800 will NOT do that. If that's a requirement for you, check to be sure. I read a comment from someone on another forum saying that the R800 officially had the same limitation, but they had been able to successfully print on canvas. So it may be possible, even though it is not in the official specs? Legacy~Art 04-20-2005, 05:57 PM I have an epson R300 and i love it, not sure what this one your asking is about, but i would recommend getting one with seperate cartridges, although i am gutted now cos i would have been better getting the durabrite ink printer, but we all learn from our quick impulse buying LOL ALAN JEARY 06-22-2007, 03:41 PM Hi I'm New To The Forum I Have An 1800 With A Cis System Which If Not Used For A Few Days Needs A Lot Of Cleaning.
