You know how much I love to do abstract2...well Flaming pear has a new filter, called Polymerge. Nothing short of marvelous, IMHO.

You open the filter, select a folder with images in it and voila, you get a beautiful (again IMHO) picture. I'll be playing with this thing all night.

These two images are results from PolyMerge working on the same group of photos but using different modes for the Merge.

Another set of images -- 4 of them, chosen to add either a strong color hue or a graphic element. Using the Hue setting, and then the Saturation setting, I fiddled a bit with the sliders (preferring low or no simplification or blending with these particular images) and the filter created these two versions. The rose and the guitar strings are identifiable in both versions, although the emphasis is different, and the other two images show off very differently in each (the man's face is not apparent in one version).

Glad you brought this filter to show us, Amy. I can imagine it creating an added element in other works as well as doing a fascinating job as a stand-alone filter.

O.K. -- I'm officially obsessed...

Exchanged the John Lennon challenge image for the other guy, and exchanged the rose for a purplish hued image...

CJ....and we're just learning this filter...Imagine what will happen later on...

I'm trying to take an image and apply strong textures to it, prior to adding it to the mix. Then pick one figure or object, and several other less obvious images. The "directions" say 6 or more images...I say 8-10.

I'm going mostly for colors, rather than dwelling on what the object of the image is. Like right now I'm working on browns and tans with a big red object.

But this one turned out nice.

I am just getting into the whole "photo to art" thing, as I do mostly digital images now. Here's one that's a little different--this uses 5 digital fractals I made (which are abstract to start with) and then applied the polymerge filter to. This is FUN!!! :happy:

I can't wait to get home to my photo collection!

Welcome! You won't believe it but I was just looking for new fractal software. I like your webpage...most fractal pieces I see online are really not terribly artistic. Yours are very nicely done.

Thanks so much!! *blushing* I love making fractals and spend hours upon hours at it. Now, of course I'm doing this photo manipulation stuff too...I need a 36-hour day to get everything done! LOL

Inspired by Amy's enthusiasm I attempted this abstract using polymerge along with some other filters, handwork and Hemera objects. There seems to be endless possibilities.

Thanks for your compliment! :) That is actually a fractal (no photomanipulation at all) and the software I used is called Ultrafractal 3 (http://www.ultrafractal.com).

I put some of the ones I've done with this filter online. Look carefully at each one. You'll be surprised what is hiding there. When you merge a dozen or more images, you get a lot of "happy little accidents" (Bob Ross the late TV Painter)

Used 3 very colourful images, Polymerge/Subtraction. A big hit of AIM/USM.

WOW you are all going great with polymerge. So far, I can't brag about anything I've done (all one of them :) ). In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy everything you all do and learn from you.

These are the 3 images I used, the first one was a kal....scope done from a colourful parrot. I liked the way the parrot feathers spread over the clowns face, a happy accident.
