New to Painter but I made this up already...

Painter was set up for those (lucky :heul: ) people with a tablet, with the brushes responding to all sorts of input - pressure, angle, wheel etc.. etc..
But those of us still pushing around a bar of soap don't have to lose out on all the fun!
Take a clone brush and enter the Brush Creator (<ctrl><B>), go to Stroke Designer>Well and in the Resaturation put 50% and choose expression velocity. (which is about the only thing you can control with a mouse)

Try it out! - go fast and you smudge things around, go slow and you get the original. Gets pretty intuitve after a while.

Have fun,

This is a wonderful help. Even though I have a tablet, it often (and I mean often) hangs up in the middle of a project and I either have to continue with a mouse or save the project where I am, shut down the computer, and restart in order to get the tablet working again. This will really help those during those times when I'm stuck with the "bar of soap".

THANKS from me,

Janet

This is what I came up with....
Just one mouse-driven cloner brush (as above) and PS texture and lighting.

After four days I finally did something that I sort-of liked
