The last time I was in Paris, a few years ago, was the first time that I had ever encountered a street like this. Small shops, overhead glass roof, the whole experience was like stepping back in time-I think!
I am posting the original photograph. The only thing done to it was to auto-everything in PSCS. Then I opened it in Painter IX using the cloner-impressionist tool to attack it. After that I took it back to PSCS where I did some layering with edges, etc. Then back to Painter for texture. Still haven't gotten the hang of very much in Painter, but wow is it ever a great application for folks like me.
Gunner, what a wonderful image. :pleased:
This caught my imagination right from the start.
- Straightened up the verticals and doubled size in Photoshop;
- Oily (mouse :heul: ) cloned in Painter;
- Brush strokes emphasized back in Photoshop.
As always 100kB kills the texture :thmbdwn: , attached a crop and here's a link to full-size (http://fotos.terra.com.br/album.cgi?+hwtjhThAkSfEVg0QuQnlhxNp6tLBpquEC_jhhxPVnmS7CgUr0tdjaIoIzLuApqg4BRU0ijlZvWawhAOE3aImvu_DoROgUEaZzODqDNyQVhEuRZVIQkxnhls9XibEQ4wMS_foto=1) (1MB)
Thanks again,

This link (http://fotos.terra.com.br/album.cgi/rolandw) should get you to the gallery, feel free to click around (and pick up some portuguese! :dizzy: ).

Well done Ro! I went to the gallery and the larger image is so much better I am going to have to do that myself. I have a 13 x 19 inch version that I could manipulate down a bit but still keep fairly large for display.
I never even thought of doing the scene the way you did it. So effective also.
By the way the actual street name is, "Coeur du Commerce".
