Thanks Kraellin. I made a couple of layers of the rose and played with some paint filters and blending modes (Photoshop). I then opened it in Painter and used the oil cloners to get a better painted effect. Back in Photoshop I added a color/texture background and erased a some of the rose background, more blending and color adjustments and some text. I confess, I probably left some steps out, as I was just having fun and not paying attention. I have to start making notes.

thanks cazubi. it's ok, i dont have either of those programs, so a tutorial on it would have been a bit wasted on me. it reminded me of some of those older painted on wood plaques i've seen over the years. very nice :)

and, you've all inspired me to try something a bit new for me....

Hi Legacy~Art,

Please find attached my rather tardy interpretation of your rose.

I simply cut the flower out of the background and aplied a couple of Curve Adjustment Layers over it (the BG) followed by a radial zoom filter effect.

The flower itself I simply blurred a bit.

Hope you like it.

Regards

Con
