Legacy~Art 05-27-2005, 03:46 AM Neve i bought one of those pen and tablets and then i sold it back on ebay, i hated it, it drive me loopy, so yes painter i have, but with a mouse! Still only know how to use the clone, the rest is gobblygoop! Thank you Pam! Neve 05-27-2005, 05:37 PM :wavey: Hi Elle, I did wonder about you with Painter and your tablet. Sorry to hear it hasn't worked out for you. Maybe the "time" just isn't right and we all get into a comfort zone using the same tried and true software programs. I'm like that with PaintShopPro which I've been using for years since there shareware version 3. Legacy~Art 05-28-2005, 06:41 AM Neve i have been using psp7 for years and i always go back to it, i like photoshop but not as much as Paint Shop Pro, but the tablet it just drove me mad, the curser was everywhere i just don't have the patience i thought i had, but hey it wasn't a wacom maybe there is a different getting a cheaper one. Well one day i might go to the wacom site and get one of them 2nds. Con Looymans 05-28-2005, 10:04 PM Hi Neve, I first straightened the horizon, and then duplicated the Layer. From the top Layer I created 3 square Selections to become the sides of my cube and used the Transform command to assemble them. I applied Levels to modify the brightness and so give it more dimension. Finally I used the Outer Glow setting. The next Layer I just lightly adjusted the Levels to modify the exposure to my liking. I then created a mask for this Layer. In the mask I used the Gradient tool with the Grey Levels Gradient selected in Normal Mode. I held down the Shift key to make sure my line was perfectly horizontal. I then changed the Blend Mode to “Difference” and drew a line from top to bottom again holding down the Shift key. Over the resulting checkerboard I then ran the Paint Daubs filter and played with the settings until I got a result I liked. I also used the Liquify filter to modify the grid just "Below" the cube On the bottom i.e. Background Layer I applied the Glowing Lines filter and played with the blend modes until I was happy with the result. I also applied the Levels command to the mask to modify it a bit further. Hope you like the result. Regards Con Neve 06-01-2005, 12:45 AM A clever result! :bigthmb: raniday 06-01-2005, 06:00 AM Neve, this is a great photo to play with. I was going for a water color-y look and used the Art History Brush in Photoshop, also USM and some color saturation. http://www.pbase.com/image/44165593 Neve 06-02-2005, 06:03 AM Ooooh Lovely Raniday. :bigthmb: Yes, I was attracted by the colours in this photo! Neve 06-02-2005, 07:31 AM Had a quick go in Painter, the horizon's not as straight as it should be. Used Den's Oil Brushes with Funky Chunky to block it all in first. Image was cropped and I didn't put back all the boats. Added some surface texture too. jaykita 06-02-2005, 10:47 AM Elle, yours is lovely! Coy, wow, very creative indeed! Catherine, yours is marvellous as usual!! Hi Neve, the texture's very nice. Must try Den's famous brush sometime. I'm afraid i went OVERBOARD with the colors!!! Did this in painter8 with one of my modified (oilpaint) brushes. Legacy~Art 06-02-2005, 04:38 PM Well LQQKie at you guys! Nice pictures, indeed what a great array of colours!
