Lets do some painting like we did when we was in art class at school and have some fun! Lets do some painting like we did when we was in art class at school and have some fun! It's more fun now than it was then!! :pleased:
I've been tweaking a Painter cloner brush to work with a mouse - this is what I've got so far.....
Thanks, Legacy, a real cute image! ;)
Rô Legacy~Art 05-26-2005, 06:48 PM Ro that is perfect! Had another try, though maybe the first one was better.
Rô cazubi 05-26-2005, 08:06 PM She is so cute. Here is my try. Edited in Photoshop, Oil brushes in Painter, back to Photoshop for more tweaking, a texture layer from Photoshop Wow.
Cathy jaykita 05-27-2005, 12:45 AM How did I fare, teacher ms. Elle? Legacy~Art 05-27-2005, 04:00 AM cazubi very very nice!
Judy you are turning into a pro artist! cazubi 05-27-2005, 10:12 AM Thanks L~A.
Very expressionistic, Judy.
Cathy :bigthmb: Northernshadow 05-28-2005, 08:25 AM this picture sooo reminds me of my little sister 30 years ago, she was quite a going concern at times!
byRO-the texture of the brushstokes really adds interest! is it a bristle tip?
Cathy- you achieved a more relaxed, loose feel, I had this in mind but it got away from me.
Jaykita-I agree with Cathy, very expressionistic!
I think I might have ended up overworking mine, seems it's always difficult to decide when to stop.
-edited in Photoshop
-opened in Painter and worked on a clone
-base pink background
-layer 1 set to luminousity and used a variant of soft camel oil to clone
-layer 2 set to default and used same brush, reduced opacity to 50%
-dropped layers and copied
-applied surface texture (image luminance I think?) to the duplicate layer and reduced opacity to 30%
-dropped layers and applied surface texture (paper)
-adjusted levels in Photoshop Legacy~Art 05-28-2005, 08:49 AM Sherry i love that atmosphere you got going on there!
Here is mine i removed the background and turned her into whats becoming my simple but usual artyness! LOL byRo-the texture of the brushstokes really adds interest! is it a bristle tip? When I'm cloning in Painter I use some oily bristles, but you can hardly see them. Back in Photoshop run an emboss-type filter, and sometimes Lighting Effects - then the bristles really stick out.
Usually I overdo it though. :devious:
Rô Elleth 05-28-2005, 12:47 PM Downloaded a trial version of painter this morning....
I thought this would be a good image for my maiden voyage with the software.
I think I found a new toy! Kraellin 05-28-2005, 01:17 PM i did something i wouldnt normally do with this one; i enlarged her eyes. i wanted a more 'anime' look to them. after that it was adjusting contrast, hues, saturation with the fast fix plugin and some standard Paint Shop Pro 7 filters.
jaykita, i love that rendition!
byRo, the 2nd is better :)
and like legacy said, cazubi, great atmosphere!
liked the others also!
K. Patricia 05-29-2005, 05:14 PM So many pictures, so little time! Seems like ages since I've done any of the challenges here . . . working on learning Painter, it's going to take quite a bit of time before I feel really comfortable working in it.
Cropped, prepped in CS2, background created in CS2 by choosing colors from the original, and using render clouds and Impressionist.
Cloned in Painter 8, using the newly created background and the prepped original. Then added a touch of color here and there, and blended.
Back into CS2 for a h/s adjustment. A good effort Patricia, I'm still struggling on with Painter. I have good days and bad days with it all. Saturation + Impressionist Plugin + Trimoon Brushes
Thats all ;) Kraellin 05-30-2005, 11:12 PM i love these. i love doing them and i love seeing what others do with them, and what a great subject. that little girl has such a priceless look that every parent in the world would recognize :)
K. jaykita 06-03-2005, 12:13 PM Thanks, Cathy, Sherry, i guess my work does seem expressionistic. I enjoy using plenty of color in my work.
Here's another one done in painter 8 with one of my modified brushes. Patricia 06-03-2005, 12:17 PM Wow, Judy, this one is gorgeous!
