Does anyone have any suggestions on how to improve this "photo"? I am at my wits end trying to work with this halftone screening... PLEASE HELP!

Photoshop CS2 has a new blur called Box Blur that I've found to be helpful for just this kind of thing. Not magic, but the best solution I've found so far.

If, like me, you don't have PS CS2, the FFT Filter can work real miracles in these cases ... Unfortunately the picture you posted is small, so, .JPG compression artifacts add to the halftone dots .... Could you post a good sized cropped part of your picture ... ?

What I actually intended with a 'good sized crop' was a higher resolution one ... The 'crop' posted seems to be taken from the whole picture previously posted and resized .... this way, beside the halftone dots, now wider spaced, there are no details to work on ... :sad:

I don't know how the scanning of this picture was done, but, if you have the original, could you rescan it at higher resolution? (600ppi or, better still, higher ...) ... This will create a big file and won't really help for printing ... but it would be a huge help for working on the picture ....

Once you have a higher resolution picture (with visible details), if posting it would mean compress it beyond recognition to stay in the allowed 100KB size, then, you could either carefully resize it, or, if you notice that you are losing too many details in the process, crop part of it trying to achieve the best size and resolution but still maintaining the 'precious' details...
