Simple and beautiful.

Well, my initial thought was that this was a pretty sucky image. Too green, not a lot of contrast, slightly out of focus, pretty boring subject, not well composed. Next....

I couldn't figure out how to do something simple and awesome like Kiska's effort but tried to funk it up with some filters 2000 and Extensis Photo Frames. Missing some bottom detail..so spank me.

any of these might make a good background for the june contest. just a thought :)

and i've a question somewhat related to this image. if i had a flat finish on a leaf or flower petal, how would i give it a glossy sheen? and particularly, how would i give it a glossy sheen without using some heavy handed filter like 'hot wax' ?

Believe me Psalms1, I've got a trunkload of images like this. I'm constantly playing with them to try to make them more interesting and find their inner beauty. I've tried another one..less colorful. Blended in an Infrared effect, applied an S curve and finished with a MF Watercolor action.

Edit: Added another one, instead of Watercolor applied Filters 2000: Color Effects: Intensity to Hue

Cheers

Interesting creations! All of you seem to be going the abstract way, so did i! Enjoyed doing this in ps7 with different blends, and impr filter - detailed crayon.

OK Palms..........I see you couldn't "leaf" this one alone, so I almost did the same thing you did on the image.

Anyway here it is.
