I am do a slideshow of old pictures, and after the scan they are in a small resolution. How do i upsize, without losing alot of detail?
I've heard of step bicubic (+10%), but i know there are better ways.
Can you help please?

Here is one of the examples, but i want to know about the method aswell.
Thx.

you need a program which can do this. paint shop pro, photoshop and i think irfanview can do this also. and i think irfanview is still free; the others arent.

somewhere within one of those (or similar programs) you shld find a 'resize' command. simply specify how much you want to resize your image and it shld do it for you. i think also some of the software that comes packaged with printers and scanners and some computers, could also resize. check what you have and see if you dont have something like this. it's really pretty simple.

oh, and if you just cant find anything, i know The Gimp will have this feature, and it's entirely free. do a google search to find it.

Best way would be to re-scan at a higher resolution. But if that option isn't open to you, then try Genuine Fractels, which is said by many to give really good results.

If you are re-sizing using Photoshop or any other photo editor, then as you've already mentioned, step resizing usually gives better results.
