Let me know what you think of this composite. I shot this in Ottawa two years ago. It is the Confederation Building near (on) Parliament Hill. The originals are stacked on the left. I was able to fit these together by distorting them to the same perspective.

you took the 3 photos on the left and made the 4th, larger image from those? ok, i'm impressed! i'm not even going to to go into nit picking mode on this one. i cant find a seam. i cant find anything wrong with the lighting and shadows. i dont see any perspective distortion that you sometimes get with a skew or perspective alteration. about the best i could do to be on the super-critical side would be to say add a bit more blue to the sky for contrast, but even that seems a bit silly in light of the excellent work you did of compositing these three images together like you did. if i were to run across your final image without you having first said you made it from the other three, i would have never suspected.

and yes, i'd like to know what you used also. frankly, you dont need a critique, you need to write a tutorial :)

Thanks for your kind words. I used PS7 (but am very curious about this CS2 feature that you mention).

The sky is a fake. I sampled the original and created a gradient background. As for the pieces, the left section required a lot of stretching with the Transform>Distort tool, but the upper section was straightforward. I softened all edges with a large soft eraser so you won't find any seams.

Hi Ken,

First of all congratulations on a very well executed merge.

The only thing that bothers me, (and I'm being incredibly nit picking here) is the large lamp to the left of the foreground, the base doesn't seem to sit properly into the highway, (which also doesn't look quite right).

However, this does not in any way take away from a fine piece of work.

The road was difficult. There wasn't enough road detail in the originals to clone stamp with, so I just took a small piece of road and stretched it across my image. I'd like it to look better, though. I'll fix the lamp base, too.
