Three months ago I shot this and played with it in many ways for literally days. This sketch and then painting in part of the flowers I really liked. I never even bothered to print it.{edit add: because I thought the image was composed with too little forground, so it became a learning experence}

Most depressingly, I only remember that the sketch action or plugin or what ever I used had come from a find -I think, although obviously no one should trust my memory, on an Adobe download site. The reason I downloaded it was that it was described as the best pencil sketch plugin/action the reviewer had ever found.

Well for the many meg image that I made it was for me too.

I only have three sketch actions and no plugins in my CS atn file. they are titled "Daves Sketch (Line Drawing)", "Pencil Art Work", and ,of course, "By Ro -Pencil Sketch". Rolands never worked for me I think because he wrote it for PS7 and all this is on CS.

I also think what ever I used must have worked in 16 bit as the final image was there.

I couldn't get any of them to work on CS2 or even CS today. I think its time to start saving history as metadata which I haven't bothered 'cause mostly it seems the layers pallette does enough.

For any help you can give; I will be apprecitive. Thanks to all.

I know this is an old posting, but I've been playing around with writing an action to do this kind of image. I'm attaching a sample photo, along with the action. It's adjustable and pretty flexible for doing a selectively colored sketch.

photofixer,

Thx, The sketch action is what I'm looking for though the color was added in my image by the history brush with a reduced opacity for each swipe of the history brush.

Now I think it is time to ask how to do sketching for my self so I can write my own action.
