Dawn Kraellin 08-03-2005, 01:20 PM thanks, dawn and nice shot :) deep depth shots are always fun to play with. i whipped these out fairly quickly. the basic process is reversing the image to a negative and then wildly varying a curves layer. a few other things were done, but the basis for all of this is reverse image and curves. Craig 1STLITE 08-03-2005, 01:43 PM REALLY cool Craig! My favorite is the second one! Awesome! Dawn Kraellin 08-03-2005, 01:59 PM thanks :) i like that one too. Craig TylerRB 08-03-2005, 03:03 PM I decided on two different approaches (moods) for this pic, so posted both. The steps involved were a bit haphazard, so once again, I can't retrace the procedurs......if anyone was interested that is! Tyler 1STLITE 08-03-2005, 04:29 PM Tyler, I like the first one. But hte second one made me say WOW! Awesome work! Dawn Kraellin 08-03-2005, 09:39 PM tyler, i'm with dawn on this one, the 2nd is a definite winner. well done! Craig TylerRB 08-04-2005, 01:18 AM 1stLite and Kraellin Thanks to you both. I feel the second one is best also. Though what I am upset about is that I dont' remember how I arrived at it for sure. Thanks! Tyler Kraellin 08-04-2005, 07:15 AM hehehe, tyler. i know all too well what you mean. Craig Fluffbutt 08-05-2005, 11:27 PM Nice work. Can I make a critique? If you still have the layered file, how about lightening the bridge layer's background greenery (the river line), then defringing the whole bridge layer to remove the white outline. This will blend the bridge layer with the new sky perfectly yet still allow you to see the trees/bushes.. DannyRaphael 08-05-2005, 11:48 PM Great shot from a moving boat, Dawn! :) Thanks for posting it so we could play. I made a layer from the Blue channel, applied a levels adjustment layer to it to remove most of the midtones and fine tuned with Thresholds to get this stark BW look. FWIW - this was a completely accidental result. I had no idea when I started that this is where my flailing would take me. ~Danny~ Kraellin 08-06-2005, 07:23 AM nice simple look, danny, but i thought i was the only one that 'flailed' :) Craig 1STLITE 08-06-2005, 09:24 AM Danny, That is freakin' AWESOME! lol Really great! Dawn Neve 08-07-2005, 12:52 AM Thanks for the Photo Dawn.... :) PaintShopPro8.1 Dupe Bottom Layer L2 – Photo Wizz Plugin(free)/Luma Neg – Layer Mode/Difference. Lighting effect/Lights up. Craig Patricia 08-07-2005, 12:59 PM Neve, I have one word for you - WOW! Patricia Neve 08-07-2005, 07:50 PM Thank you everyone...much appreciated! The link for Photo Wizz...scroll down to Photo Freebies, there are other goodies in there too...I love the sepia filter especially. http://thepluginsite.com/products/photowiz/index.htm Patricia 08-07-2005, 11:08 PM wanted to see what Trimoon's new sketch brush would do . . . here's the link to another forum, where he posted about the brush. Kraellin 08-07-2005, 11:40 PM thanks, neve :) Craig Godmother 07-20-2006, 11:17 AM This is my go... (I just found the thread) Did I go to far? manta1900 07-20-2006, 11:43 AM If only I had the original.... The compression artifacts spoiled the soup! LonK 07-21-2006, 10:21 AM Awesome photo. Lots of fun combining various filter effects... lkroll 07-21-2006, 07:24 PM Started out using CIBO techniques to enhance the shadow/highlights. Merged in some GREYCstoration, Toadies Metalwork and Flaming Pear's Mr. Contrast, then smudging. Enhanced the Sat/Colors too. :) Kraellin 07-22-2006, 12:08 PM lk, i like that. i dont know exactly what you've been doing, but i'm liking a lot more of yours lately. well done :) craig PhotoVagrant 07-22-2006, 12:21 PM My attempt using 1Click's (http://www.1clickactions.com) GAF500 filter oltenius 07-22-2006, 01:22 PM Thanks for the nice pic! Great job everyone. Many actions in my attempt. ----------------------------- Dan Peter S 07-22-2006, 03:18 PM Thought i would have a go. Applied a Gradient Map AL and changed blend to Luminosity, masked out parts of the water to soften the effect. lkroll 07-22-2006, 07:06 PM lk, i like that. i dont know exactly what you've been doing, but i'm liking a lot more of yours lately. well done :) craig Thanks Craig. What I dubbed as CIBO is done doing the following (same attributes in Photoshop, so it should work there too, but I like using GIMP). Dup for a total of three layers, set the Top layer to [C]olor and [I]nvert the center layer. [B]lur (for simple sharpening, I usually set it to 5) the center layer and set it to [O]verlay. I know I haven't been posting as often; I guess I'm spread quite thin with all the boards that I frequent. I still usually read all the post, and though I don't comment on most of all of you all's stuff, I'm quite impressed with the work here. :) 1STLITE 07-24-2006, 11:15 AM I am so glad you all are enjoying this one. I love what everyone has done with it! (I know I have been gonde for a while from here - been busy with work and trying to learn more on the photography side here. Got some good news though - I am about to start selling some prints at a store locally. Wish me luck! ) Dawn |
