The source of this (for me) is some e-mails that have apparently been forwarded a large number of times. In other words I don't know who originally did it or when.

I thought it might make an interesting - and different - type of picture that is normally worked on here.

I've got a couple of tries I'll post later.

Hope it's large enough to work with.

Have fun.

I tried to make this somewhat similar to the prehistoric cave paintings found in the caves in France and Spain.

i.e. Lascaux in France

Chavet in France

and Altamira in Spain

If you're interested, you can "google" them and find links to some amazing very early art.

btw - cave paintings and rock carvings (petroglyphs) are worldwide - and many are quite similar.

I've seen pics on the net of people participating in festivals like the U.S. New Orleans Mardi Gras, whose (almost) entire bodies have been painted in this fashion. It's an amazing art form.

sorry, dont mean to hijack your thread, but i couldnt help but be reminded of guys like this (see attached), where implants, tatoos, plastic surgery and so on are done to make a permanent change to a person's look.
