This is just a question. No photo.
When I make a vignette, sometimes I'd like it to be textured like lace, or filigree. Is there an easy way to achieve this???

in psp, and i would assume, photoshop, you could add a texture or pattern to any brushwork. you can either add this automatically as you paint, or add it in later on the layer, or as a new layer. your manual shld specify how to do this.

I'm using PS7 and the textures included are canvas, burlap, stone. - no lace, filigree. IS there someplace where I can download more textures??? Freely would be best.

here is one link where i think you can get some: http://thepluginsite.com/download354634845/index.htm get the 'harry's filters' too. i think the textures are with some of the other 'harry's...' stuff. you could also check out the Corel site and the user group sites for psp.

you can also make your own. take any image, i tend to use 100 x 100 pixel images that i find or make, and save them as a .bmp and place them into your 'textures' folder and make another copy and save it into the 'patterns' folder in psp 7. one very easy method is to take some of the .jpg's that are used for textures and patterns in other programs and simply batch convert them and save to those previously mentioned folders.

Another way is to google lace images ( this one (http://namelygifts.com/images/Holiday%20Images/Weddings/Wedding%20lace.jpg) for example), bring it in as a layer and erase the middle with a mask or the eraser.

Layer Styles will also let you texture whatever it's applied to using any image you want in the pattern section.
