Hi all

I have recently taken this photo of my two Samoyed dogs and as you can see it wasn't the best picture I have ever taken, the eyes are to dark they also have a red tint on them the light wasn't great in the building either so I wanted to make this an ideal picture to hang on my wall (the 2 dogs are gorgeous) so I thought this may be a nice job for people to attempt, please feel free to add any ideas you have to the pic the you think will make it look great. :D

Andrew -- such gorgeous dogs! I've always loved Samoyeds, and yours look beautiful and sweet-natured (sitting nicely while you photograph them instead of licking the camera lens like mine do).

Mostly I used the Selective Color layer adjustment to reduce the magenta and the cyan from the whites. I reduced the magenta from the reds. I reduced both the magenta and the yellow a bit from the neutrals while I reduced the black a bit more than the magenta or yellow. I then added an empty layer on top set to the Overlay blending mode and used a white brush to lighten their coats and eyes a bit more.

I'm sure others will have other strategies to show you also. Hope these help you make a treasured keepsake. :)

P.S. -- looks like I blew out the whites a bit; Cyber Cat's fur shows more detail.

Hi Andrew.

I spent a while on the first one messing about with curves to make the coats white. Then it dawned on me this was not necessary. In the second one I just de-saturated the image and added a mask for the tongs. Easy.
