I came to work today to find a great friend of mine very upset...=-( She had put together a great scrap book with many priceless pictures from around the world. Unfortunately there is no clear covering to keep the pictures from sticking together when she closes the book. After placing the scrapbook away while she got her MD she was crushed to find that when she re-visited it years later the pictures have stuck together. I tried to read other forums rather then starting my own but I couldn't find any that related to photos still in an album. Obviously I am not a photo-genius so I wanted to check to see the best solution for my sad friend. I thank you in advance for your help!!

there are a large number of types of 'photo albums'. we'd need some details here. are the pages paper? were the prints taped in? was the cover surface one of those plastic 'magnetic' types? as much detail as you can give is what we need here.

and welcome to RetouchPRO.

I appreciate the welcome very much!! The pages of the album/scrapbook are paper and she used a glue stick to stick the pictures on. Unfortunately there is no cover surface at all. Obviously, next time she will use something with a nice plastic covering to keep the pictures from sticking together however since she didn't I thought that the best people to give advice would be you guys.... :classic: Thanks for any help!!

A glue stick!!!

Putting aside that horror, if it's only the surface of the photos sticking, and it's not related to the glue, she could possible try placing the book in a high humidity environment (steamy bathroom?) to try to soften the emulsion of the photos in order to separate them.

Chances are it is the glue though.....
