Hi guys/gals

This is my maiden post to this wonderful and generous forum.

Now... I am just wondering if anyone can teach me how to achieve this wonderful effect that my fave photographer uses in Photoshop? His name is Mark Tucker (http://marktucker.com) .

I just want to say that I am not so much interested in the out of focus effects of his pictures but I am interested to know how to add the 'texture' to the pictures........

Any ideas for this newbie?

Take your picture and a chosen texture, could be a wall, paving slab, dirt whatever.
Desaturate the texture and increase/decrease the brightness till the avg colour is around rgb 127, 127 , 127 (50% grey)
Then set the blending mode of the texture to overlay, if the effect is too much try changing to soft light, if its not enough change to hard light, you can also play with the opacity of the layer to get the exact effect you want.
